Personal Safety and Social Responsibility

The aim of this mandatory STCW course is to give ALL persons intending who go to sea the education and training in personal safety and social responsibilities on board ship.

Course Duration: 1/2 day.

Training Centre: St James Hotel, St James Square, Grimsby DN31 1XZ.

Fee: £119.00 (£99.00 + VAT, inc lunch and refreshments).

There are no entry requirements, however the training forms part of the requirements for basic training for seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity onboard ship, as part of the ship’s complement with designated safety or pollution prevention duties, in the operation of the ship.
The mandatory training must be undertaken before new entrants are assigned to any such shipboard duties.
As per MCA requirements delegates or companies booking on behalf of delegates must ensure that one of the below forms of personal identification is available and to be presented at course registration:

  • Passport
  • Discharge Book (or equivalent National document recording a person’s sea service)
  • National I.D. Card
