Route 1 Entry requirements
Updating training is to be undertaken, in line with the above regulations, by seafarers holding a proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats (other than fast rescue boats) certificate, or equivalent4, and who have maintained the required standard of competence, by onboard training and experience, for all competencies listed in the self-declaration form. Seafarers must sign the self-declaration form as a pre-requisite to the reduced hours entry route of the MCA approved updating course.
Route 2 Entry requirements

As per MCA requirements delegates or companies booking on behalf of delegates must ensure that one of the below forms of personal identification is available and to be presented at course registration:
Passport, Discharge Book (or equivalent National document recording a person’s sea service),National I.D. Card.
